"Kashmiris from both the sides want to help each other after one of the biggest human catastrophes hit the region," Shabbir told BBC Radio. He said the step was a bit late but it was better than never, adding, "we welcome this decision."
He demanded the Indian government to ease documentation formalities for the visitors. "If the formalities of documents are not eased then I think no one will be able to cross the LoC", he added.
He said people from both the sides wanted to help their affected brothers in the time of trial, adding the common people wanted to cross the LoC to help quake-ravaged people.
